Faculty Development Programme on Business Management Simulation

Over the years, the FDPs have institutionalised a strong reputation for excellence in the professional development of Management Educators in all streams. These programmes are predominantly delivered through conventional methods of class room Lecturing, Seminars and Workshop etc. and those revising/updating the theoretical concepts of management teaching. The real business has undergone tremendous changes through innovations and technology and in turns calls for practice oriented concept of teaching and learning. This has become the need of the day, which is now visible in the Corporate. Hence, the Educators need a different platform of transformation, and thus, the "Chanakya Business Simulation" is the right line of attack. “Chanakya Business Simulation” is in existence for more than two and half decades and was primarily focused on grooming Corporate Professionals as well as the management students. Now, it is coming with groundbreaking ideas of offering it for the Faculty’s’ Development by aiming to enhance their efficiency of delivery and make it highly practical. The AIMA’s Simulation trains the faculty to ensure complete involvement of the students in learning through a trajectory of highly interactive sessions.

Objective

The major focus is to sharpen the business acumen of targeted professionals-especially those who have need to catch an opportunity to acquaint themselves with recent developments in the field of Business Management in the industry at National and Global level. The programme enables the participants to develop competency in all sphere of management through cross functional understanding to integrate the teaching pedagogy by shifting theoretical Business Concepts to practice oriented tasks.

Business Simulators are recognised as the fastest and most effective environments for learning. "Chanakya Business Simulation" has been designed through computer software that simulates multiple scenarios replicating the emerging markets and business trends in the economic environment with latest challenges experienced by the Business Houses. All such inputs help the Faculty in handling the subject and the students in more effective manner since this takes the comprehension level to a high peak. It will help the Faculty in hand holding of the students on the following:

Approach

This is based on 'Learning by Doing', a pure experiential mode. The Faculty participant is better geared up towards disseminating the learning among students by acquiring the skills of strategy formation, decisions making under stressful circumstances, and managing precious resources by connecting to the management principles. The participants are groomed to adopt entrepreneurial approach that hones visioning, planning, execution and functional coordination to implement/revise course of action and experience a transition from of a functional leader to a strategy specialist at all levels.

Duration and Methodology

Complete 2 days starting from 0900 hrs to 1800 hrs following the path of:

  • Providing Virtual Case and the Manual for preparation before the training sessions
  • Details presentation of the Virtual Case on a specific Industry
  • Q&A session followed by a Trial Round
  • Detailed de-briefing on Trial Round
  • Comprehensive discussion and briefing on Subsequent Rounds where new scenarios evolve and approach to handle in effective manner
  • At the conclusion, discussion on learning and takeaways Takeaways
